IES Progress Report 2024

X Series 2-inch Downlights Recognized for Technical Achievement

Showcasing products that provide significant technical advancement in the art and science of lighting, the X Series Modular Downlighting System has been accepted into the 2024 Illuminating Engineering Society’s (IES) Progress Report for its uniqueness, innovation, and significance to the lighting industry.

The X Series 2-inch downlight’s modular design (housing, module, and trim) features the industry’s first LED light engine module integrated with a DALI-2 driver for the rapidly growing Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) lighting control protocol.

A DALI Config App allows simple DALI setup and reading without power and stores original settings for device upgrades, changes, or replacement using NFC cloning.

The downlights’ cleverly engineered Cross Beam Total Internal Reflection (TIR) Optics maximize light efficacy (up to 105 lm/W) while minimizing glare and ensuring no cutoff when combined with a pinhole trim. To learn more about the benefits of the optics, watch the video below.

The versatility of the modular design includes tool-less, field-interchangeable optics, modules, and trims, allowing for simple serviceability, easy design changes, and onsite flexibility to meet specific application needs. The X Series is also the first truly serviceable 2-inch downlight with integrated drivers in the modules versus the housing, so modules, equipped with quick connects, can be easily swapped out with below ceiling access.

The yearly mission of the IES Progress Committee is to keep in touch with developments in the art and science of lighting throughout the world and prepare a yearly report of achievements for the Society.
